This vacancy sits within the Central Engineering department working across many, varying projects. You will administer and develop the PLM (SmarTeam) and CATIA toolsets in particular Digital mock-up (DMU) capability, including first and second line support for end users.
The vacancy:
You will be required to support the development and implementation of technical configuration management processes and tools
* Implementation and management of the agreed security model for user accounts
* Development of SmarTeam to enhance and automate functionality with a purpose to improve efficiency's through the use of 'Smart Script and API
* Develop supporting applications and tools through the use of Microsoft Visual Studio and Visual Basic Script 'VB'
* Assist CATIA users in the correct use of Design Solutions in relation to the desire product breakdown
* Manage and maintain CATIA configuration settings and ensure compliance to CAD and drawing standards
* Create and maintain UKAEA CAD and drawing standards
* Maintain and develop Digital Mock-Up 'DMU' capability and assist user with the use of DMU for the identification of design integration and clash issues
* Support the development of the Technical Document Management System (TDMS) for the purposes of technical product documentation management
* Support the development of an Engineering Change Management System and the development of an electronic workflow
Your experience:
* Appropriate technical qualifications (degree or equivalent applied experience)
* Proven track record applying and adhering to defined design and engineering processes undertaken within a design environment
* Significant experience working with complex industrial or manufacturing facilities and plant
* Sound knowledge and application experience of PLM (design data management) techniques
* Sound knowledge and experience of using CATIA (3D CAD) design software
